Introduction To Me

I'd like to start off my first post by saying if you are on this site taking the time to read this post, I really appreciate it.  I eat, breathe and sleep sports so being able to write about it and have someone read it is incredible and means a lot.
Anyways, my name is Ricky, and I am also 24. I have been a sports fan since I can remember and am also from Chicago.  I never had season tickets to any of the Chicago teams (my home town), but I did have a father who loved baseball.  Growing up a Cubs fan was hard because they were always terrible.  It was impossible to just watch the Cubs because I loved baseball so much and they were unwatchable.  As soon as I could understand the sport, my dad introduced me to fantasy baseball which he had been doing for 20+ years.  I immediately fell in love.  I have been playing fantasy baseball for about 14 years and will until the day I die.  Along the way, I picked up fantasy football because that's what all my friends do.  I must say though, when I got to college I was introduced to fantasy hoops.  It is my first love and I will discuss it all day long.
Since I've started fantasy baseball, I have finished in the money in almost every league.  I have gotten first in five straight years in my main league.  I have had the baseball package since I was little so I watch as much baseball as I possibly can.  I have a history of watching trends with players and having a clue of what will continue and what won't.  I also dominate fantasy hoops on a yearly basis because I too spend much of my time watching basketball and listening to other "experts" opinions.  Football I admittedly haven't had as much success in, but injuries in football account for so much of a team's success/failure.

My hope is that something I write on this site will enhance your knowledge of sports or will help your fantasy squad.  I will be answering any and all questions for any of the big 3 fantasy sports.  You can direct your questions to our twitter page @FWFantasy or to foulweatherfantasy@gmail.com.  I look forward to hearing from you all.

P.S. For anyone wondering, we named this "Foul Weather Fantasy" because as Cubs fans we consider ourselves "foul weather fans."  You've heard of fair weather fans only caring about a team when it is succeeding?  Well both of us have been following the Cubs since we were born and have yet to see a World Series APPEARANCE even though they were the best team in 2003!

Welcome to our blog!

While it’d be really easy to start the blog off with a rant about the Cubs, instead I will introduce you to the website and myself.

My name is Sean, I am 24 years old, and I breathe sports. My dad introduced me to the world of sports at an early age… by the time I was born, he had season tickets to the Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. We still have ‘Hawks and Cubs tickets but got rid of the Bulls tickets at the end of the ’98 (the end of their dynasty).

While I do love the Cubs, Bears, ‘Hawks, and Bulls, there is no question that baseball is my favorite sport. I am an unfortunately huge Cubs fan. I am an avid ‘Hawks and Bears fan, and more of a casual basketball fan. I know that Michael Jordan has already provided this city with the best basketball I will ever see... so the Bulls do not interest me as much as the other teams.

I went to college at Indiana, where I met Ricky and we instantly connected due to our love of sports. After senior year, I joined his fantasy baseball and football leagues… finishing second in baseball (losing to him in both regular season and playoffs) and getting blown out of the water in my first year of football as a result of injuries and inexperience.

Ricky and I both follow sports closely enough that we wanted to do something with the large amount of otherwise useless knowledge we have acquired… so a blog made a lot of sense. We’ve both done well in fantasy sports and really love talking about trades/the value of different players, so we hope to provide advice that will be valuable to your various fantasy teams. We’ll also put up some posts on our strategies, including both those that have boomed and those that have busted. And as mentioned above we will both vent about things that drive us crazy in sports.

Direct any questions about trade proposals you have/ want to make, players to add and drop, and so on to us through this blog, foulweatherfantasy@gmail.com, either of our personal emails, or our twitter page @FWFantasy. And challenge us on any perspectives please, we love to argue.
